We will be having our third NIGHT OF HOPE Friday, March 31, from 5-8pm. The theme will be “Learning to Lament: Crying Out to God with Hope.”
We all need hope. You need it. I need it. Our world needs it now more than ever. That’s why Reason for Hope and Promise Manor are partnering to provide you with our third NIGHT OF HOPE this Spring in Lynchburg, TN. Come let your hope be rekindled through an informative lecture, meaningful resources, inspirational testimonies, and a live concert.

SONGS OF HOPE
Come experience songs of hope from Nashville singer/songwriters Channing Gillespie and Ross King.
This outdoor concert in the round will be on the beautiful Promise Manor lawn underneath the stars. Gathering around tables, with a food truck available, and after testimonies and a lecture to inform your mind, let the whole evening sink into your heart through these original songs of hope.

Channing Gillespie is the songwriter/worship leader in residence for Reason for Hope. He has performed his meaningful and hope-filled music at every event Reason for Hope has ever led. He writes extensively with other Nashville songwriters and leads worship at Belle Aire Baptist Church in Murfreesboro. His songs uplift, inspire, and are certain to draw your gaze to Jesus amidst whatever trial you may be enduring.

Ross King has been a full-time songwriter, worship leader, performer, and producer since 1995. His songs have been recorded over 150 times, primarily in the Contemporary Christian music genre, including cuts by Newsboys, We Are Messengers, Jason Gray, Cade Thompson, Shenandoah, Micah Tyler, Jordan Feliz, JJ Heller, Jonny Diaz, Jimmy Needham, North Point Community Church, and many others. Many of his songs feature hoping in God amidst hardship, and his songs are some of the most meaningful and loved on our Reason for Hope Spotify playlist.
TESTIMONIES OF HOPE
Come be inspired by the testimony of a beloved woman from our community, Sonya Brown, as well as the testimony and teaching of Pastor Erik Reed.
Sonya experienced many losses in a very short amount of time, and it nearly broke her. Hear the testimony of this beloved wife and mother and how she learned to find joy again following such deep loss. A year after confronting her grief she now even leads her own grief recovery group!

Erik knows what it is to lament, having experienced the loss of a child. He also knows what it is to have hope, knowing that God hears our cries and answers. Erik Reed is the Lead Pastor of The Journey Church in Lebanon, TN, a church he planted sixteen years ago. He also founded Knowing Jesus Ministries, a non-profit organization which exists to proclaim timeless truth for everyday life (www.kjmin.org). Erik is the author of Uncommon Trust: Learning to Trust God When Life Doesn’t Make Sense and Hold the Line: A Call for Christian Conviction in a Culture of Conformity. He is married to Katrina and has three children: Kaleb (who went to be with the Lord in 2019), Kaleigh Grace, and Kyra Piper.

LECTURE & RESOURCES
Following heartfelt and impactful testimonies, Jacob Haywood will present a short lecture entitled, “Learning to Lament: Crying Out to God with Hope .” Jacob is a pastor, PhD student, and an expert on the topic of the problem of evil and suffering. The lecture component of NIGHT OF HOPE is important because our minds need to be informed in order for the truth of the goodness of God amidst our suffering to be able to sink down into our hearts. You will also be provided with a resource of real-life laments from his upcoming book Battles in the Promised Land: Suffering, Hope, and the Abundant Christian Life.

The beautiful and historic Promise Manor is an event home and labor of love. The White family have restored the 160 year old Greek Revival Green-Evans-Hudgens House to its natural beauty. The Night of Hope will be outside, on the grounds of this beautiful property.
