True HOPE is found in a person and an event. The person is Jesus. The event is His resurrection. You can have life abundantly, now and forever, because He is alive, now and forever.

The Bible calls true belief in Jesus salvation. It is salvation because each person who turns to Jesus is turning from something else that they need saving from. Sin. Every person who has ever lived, except Jesus, has sinned. And where there is wrongdoing (sin), punishment is deserved. This is what each person needs saving from, and from which no person can save themself, because all are infected by this deadly disease. So here’s the deal: Because God is love, He fully demonstrated that love by taking the form of man, living the perfect life we could never live, taking the excruciating punishment that we deserve, dying, and rising from the dead. The sin that brings us death, Jesus put to death for all those who turn from their sins and believe in Jesus. And because He lives, if your HOPE is in Him, you live. You have life abundantly now, even amidst hardship and suffering, and you have life forevermore, with no hardship and suffering.
